Defined Research, Inc., a science-based wellness company, today announced the launch of a pioneering and rigorous clinical trial to determine the effects of its CBD-based formula on human sleep physiology.
The double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of Defined Research’s patent-pending formula is an industry-first study of the effects of CBD on human restorative sleep (the combination of REM and deep sleep). Trial participants consist of ~100 adults suffering from insomnia selected from across the United States. Objective and subjective sleep data will be collected via wearable technology and participant surveys, respectively. Importantly, the clinical trial has been approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), which ensures that human studies are governed in accordance with FDA regulations and can be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Completion of the trial and commercialization of Defined Research’s first CBD sleep product are targeted for Q3 of 2022.
